Each year during the Rowell Fair, Bailiff to the Lord of the Manor collects rent money from all the Show Families attending the Fair.

This money is used to pay for many things, including: the hiring of the horse and carriage, insurance, the Halberdiers and the bandsmen & women.

What is left over is then distributed by the Lord of the Manor – Mrs Zandra Powell – to local worthy causes in its entirety.

This year, eight organisations benefited from funds…

The Holy Trinity Church Trust
The Methodist Church
The Rothwell Citizens’ Welfare Committee
The Primary School
The Rothwell Salvation Army Centre
The Rothwell Arts & Heritage Centre
The Gretton Silver Band

..and us, the Rowell Fair Society.
