The annual Holy Trinity Flower Festival has been taking place in the Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell for over 40 years. Mainly, they are timed to take place during our patronal weekend of Trinity Sunday. This coincides with Rothwell’s most important annual celebration: ‘The Proclamation‘ and ‘Rowell Fair‘. For an explanation as to why it’s called ROWELL rather than Rothwell Fair, click HERE.

Festival History

Each year we choose a theme, giving us the opportunity to get creative!

From our very first Festival in 1982, we have taken the occasional photograph and written an explanatory leaflet. Where available, these are shown below. You will notice that for some years, we have very few or no records at all. If you have any photos or leaflets, please get in touch HERE and help us fill in the gaps!

The Rowell Fair Society and the Holy Trinity Church
very much see this as ‘work in progress’
and we look forward to adding to the collection with your help

Welcome to Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell! In conjunction with the Rowell Fair, thank-you for visiting our 2025 Flower Festival.

The Flower Festival 2025 took place Saturday and Monday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 3-5pm. As well as almost 30 displays from local church and community groups, and schools from Rothwell, Rushton and Loddington, there were refreshments of Tea, Coffee, Pimms and homemade cakes.

A raffle was drawn at lunchtime Monday and there were tombolas and stalls selling books, jigsaws, plants and Crafts from Chad. The bone crypt was open for guided tours on Saturday and Sunday with people travelling from far and wide to visit us.

On Monday morning we were also joined by staff and students from Year 3 at Rothwell Junior School and representatives from Loddington CofE Primary who shared some of their favourite poems – a fitting end to a wonderful weekend.

The theme of “Celebrating Books” was well attended raising £1135. Thank you for your generosity!
