On a cold and damp morning, representatives of Rothwell – the Town Council, Churches Together, Royal British Legion (Rothwell & District), the Rowell Fair Society, various Town and Youth Organisations and Veterans gathered alongside fellow Rowellians and paid their respects, as part of the town’s Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service 2023.

10am: The solemn event began with a procession from the Market Square to Holy Trinity Church on Squires Hill.

10.15am: the Service began at the Church and continued outside at the War Memorial.

11.00am: The two-minute silence was observed immediately followed by the wreath-laying ceremony at the Rothwell War Memorial.

Several community organisations in Rothwell contributed to the town’s Remembrance decorations.

Afterwards, the Mayor held a Reception at the Market House.
